Like many successful businesses, A&H Trucking began when a few people came together with an idea. For A&H, those people were Bill Hoag and Bob Abernethy. Bill bought a truck when he was 19 and got in business at a truck stop in Northeast Ohio. Bob happened to have an office at that same truck stop. Over time, the two men decided that it was time to work together.

Bill and Bob founded A&H Trucking in 1982. The duo began as brokers who hauled steel around the Northeast Ohio region and quickly grew a reputation for reliability. In the mid ‘90s, A&H began to purchase trucks to grow into an asset-based company with a fleet of company-owned vehicles.

While freight hauling is a core part of the business, the A&H Trucking family identified additional opportunities to grow the business over time. A&H merged with a regional repair shop in 1999 to not only better maintain their own equipment, but also offer repair, maintenance, and inspection services for customers. The company also added part sales in 2010 to extend our parts network capabilities to other trucking and repair shops.

In a span of decades, A&H Trucking has grown from an idea in a truck stop into an asset-based, family-owned business you can trust. These days, A&H Trucking maintains a combined fleet of company vehicles and owner operators that total more than 60 trucks. Add in our partnership with Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging and we have the means to provide quality, reliable service for both regional and national hauling needs.
